A bushy and woody perennial from the mint family with attractive sprays of tiny, pale pink flowers. It grows up to 15cm in height and is native to the Mediterranean region. It’s widely used as a culinary herb, an ornamental garden flower and for its medicinal properties. It’s a strong natural antiseptic and antioxidant plus it’s reported to have analgesic, expectorant and antispasmodic properties.
The name Oregano is derived from a Grecian word meaning ‘joy of the mountains’. The herb was used in ancient Greece for trauma, wounds, headaches, lung disorders and poisonous bites. In the Middle Ages, Muslims used it to kill germs and as a food preserver. In 17th century Britain, it was deemed the best cure for a head cold. Medicinal grade Oregano arises from a unique species of plant which grows wild throughout the world, Origanum vulgare – not generally what you find on your pizza. The highest grade is found in the Mediterranean. It is a natural antiseptic and antioxidant. Additionally, it is reported to have analgesic, anti-viral, carminative, expectorant, fungicidal and antispasmodic properties.
Fragrance notes
A woody citrus with camphoric undertones. Hints of bitter spice and green pepper.

Blends well with: Lavender, Rosemary, Bergamot, Cypress, Cedarwood, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus.

Precautions
Do not use in pregnancy or on children under 12 years. Use with caution on the skin due to irritant properties. Use in small dosage only. Safe to use with other medication when necessary. If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health specialist. Avoid contact with eyes – flush with water. Keep out of reach of children.

Directions
Immunity and viral infections
Add 3-5 drops to a diffuser. Enhance with other antiseptic essential oils such as Lemon and Thyme Thymol. Brilliant to ease your head cold.
Muscular pain
Add 5 drops to 1/2 tsp of Untouched Body Cream and apply to the affected area only. Warming effect. Always dilute in a carrier.
Nerve tonic and relaxant
Add 2-3 drops to the bath or diffuser. Therapeutic baths should not exceed 15 minutes.
Gut health support
Add 1-2 drops to salad dressing or green smoothies.
